So Now we have reached the the subject of my rather unusual Journal title (well unusual for me I guess, as I usually am ranting and not musing in here).
I have just now watched an interested documentry by the mummy detective regarding those Three legendary Kings of the Nativity of Christ. Now I am not really much into religion, but the history behind the bible and it's stories really do intrigue me (My parents were not devoted to religion either, but maternal Grandmother is a very devout Catholic, which clashes wonderfully with my paternal Grandmother who is much more inclined to the mystical and paranormal), so I sat up and payed attention.
Basically during the documentry, we learn via credible evidence that Wisemen or as the bible call them "Magi", were a priestly caste of Zarathustra and could possibly have arrived in Judea from Persia, which is now modern day Iran. They followed the Star of Bethlehem to Jerusalem, and to King Herod (who it is believed had Gangrene of the genitals Erk!!!) and then following the star onto Bethlehem.
Now This is were things got interesting, and goes on to the topic of our calender and Dionysius. Now it appears that Dionysuis made some mistakes with his calculations, and got everything wrong by about five years, you see he missed the first four years of Augustus (of Rome)'s reign, in which he went by the name Octavius (OMG!!!!! big cleopatra fan gurl squeal here!!!! I love history and when things mingle together!!!!!), he also forgot the year 0(birth year of christ), which means we really should have celebrated the new millenium in 1995 (better late than never I guess). So This dates the Birth of Jesus in either 6 or 5 BC.
I would like to state here that these assumptions are made on the direct words written in the Gospel of Matthew, and that everything assumed by the documentary can not be proven to be 100% fact, just good guess work based on the words of another.
Now also according to the documentary (again based on words in the bible) Jesus couldn't have been born in December, because shepards were watching over their flocks at night at the time of his arrival, it means that The birth of Christ has had to have taken place in the warmer months of the year (oooooooh!!!), and based on astrological happenings at that time and place in the world (We are coming back to the Star of Bethlehem people) namely the position of Jupiter in Aries (Let me just state here that having a basic knowldege of palmistry that I can safely say that Juptier is very often associated with leadership and kings and so forth and has always been), which would have been of great significance to the Magi - after all Jupiter was rising in the morning, and all the other significant stars where very close to, if not in Aries at the time in a very unique pattern in the sky (in other words they took it to mean a king was being born in the direction the star was or something, and of course we all know this was Judea).
Okay lets take a toilet break here, relax and catch our breath and steady our thoughts.
Still with me? Still here? I haven't bored you to tears yet have I?
Okay so the point I was getting to was, that the host of this doco believed that it is very much possible that Jesus was actually born in April (and he said specifically april 17 or there abouts - I always knew april babies were special
Back to my narrative! So while visiting this extraordinary baby they gave him their gifts, and departed in a totally different way, and didn't return to Herod at all. You see Magi were great dream interpreters and they had a dream that indicated that they should hightail it out of the area via another route.
Now we come to the Shrine of the Three Kings at Cologne Cathedral, which has evidence that proves that the supposed skulls of their three kings date back to the 4th century (I should say the evidence is in the painted form, and we all know artists are a flighty lot), but our mummy detective got to look at a photo of the back of the skulls, and from that view you can see that one skull is of a younger person, one middle aged, and the last of someone of later years, very much as they have been described in painted form. This however seems much to convenient to me to be true... that would mean the three wisemen would have to have died within a few short years of meeting baby Jesus... which is possible, but all together at the same time? I don't know peoples... I am more inclined to regard these skulls as fake, but it could be (oh know here come the ancient conspiracy theories) that King Herod was pretty pissed that they hightailed it like that, and caught them on the road and had them slaughtered in secret!!!! (again unlikely... or is it?).....
..
You know I think my thoughts have finally dried up. nothing appears to be rattling about up in there... hello brain are you still with me?
Knock knock?
nope this big long wandering essay thingy appears to have done the trick, I am all thought and thunk out for now. maybe I can finally get back to some art!

when i heard of your recent fav
...and i wondered if you'd like me
as your personal DA slave?
( Your mouse click on my effort...
is recognition for which i've striven
.... so it's the least that i could do
for all the favorites that you've given )
i will remember this fine gesture
even from my dirty grave...
And with serious compulsion
(... that i may not so easily stave...)
my spirit will be led with glee
to romp and misbehave
Back to your page... as a ghost...
i will come and happily rave....
Of you, and your greatness ...
for the fav you cooly gave

have set my heart aflutter,
rhyme and reason,
time and season,
can not harm such charmed perfection.
Such a prose of warmth and wit,
hath never before been writ,
life and breath,
cold and death,
can not touch my sweet affection.
It was my pleasure fang
